metalkCE“Following the recent publication of her new  book ‘The World Within – how our microbiome makes us who we are’, and incorporating elements of the previous book ‘The Scar that Won’t Heal’ about stress and trauma, Dr Patricia Worby looks at various new paradigms in mind-body medicine; the stress response and childhood experience, how our gut flora are intimately connected with who we are as human beings, and the various ways in which we communicate with our internal ecosystem, helping to tune the body towards health or illness. As a naturopathic therapist specialising in resolving complex trauma, Patricia believes that only by approaching emotional connection with our inner ecosystem can we truly achieve wholeness.”

Abstract: Mind and body can no longer be considered as separate as much of modern medicine insists. By considering the microbial, biochemical and psychological processes which interact within the body, researcher and therapist, Dr Patricia Worby shows how our earliest experiences (including our gestation and birth), and subsequent life experience, landscape our mindbody to express itself in health or disease.

Your body’s fascinating network of interaction through microbial, neural and endocrine pathways, largely governed by unconscious processes deep in the emotional brain, make you who you are on a daily basis. Patricia hopes to show you how, by gaining understanding of these interactions, you can help you and your clients uncover a brave new world of deep nutrition, cleansing and emotional detoxification to achieve true health.

We will look at the complex community of our inner ecology, interacting with our own physiology and psychology can combine to set us up for chronic illness. Using examples from my own practice, I will then describe some of the ways in which I treat these using EMDR and EFT.

We will be covering both the science and the practice of healing, from the inside out. There will be time for a short demo,  questions and audience interaction.

Suitable both for professional therapists and anyone interested in the mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of health and wellbeing. Come and have your horizons expanded!
